Argument (Anime version)
Yuuji Sakai is a normal guy, not very popular but very nice. His best friend is one of the smartest kids of course and has a mate, very shy who falls for him, but neither the records. One day, while returning from college, Yuuji notices that everything around you freezes and displays a giant baby trying to eat and a strange girl appears to cope. This young (which Yuuji Shana called because it uses the sword that is called Nietono no Shana) is known as a Flame Haze Uchite Shakugan no. A Flame Haze is a mighty hunter creatures from another world (the Guze no Tomogara) that they bring to humans the vital energy and cause an imbalance in the world. The Flame Haze work for other entities than the called Alastor Shana. In his meeting with Shana, Yuuji finds out he is a "Torch", a kind of substitute body Flame Haze that used to impersonate humans eaten by Guze and that over time their existence is fading along with memories others had of him, to his death something so traumatic. But Yuuji is not a common Torche, as it has inside the Reiji Maiga, an object that regenerates the power and energy spent during the day Yuuji. In the course of the series will be presented many enemies trying to get Shana's sword or the power of Yuuji.

This story began as a ranobes, novels with little accompanying text and several illustrations (usually for teenagers and young adults). Shana is the author of the Japanese writer Yashichiro Takahashi and illustrations were made by Noizi Ito. There are 16 volumes of the main story and 3 additional stories (0 Shana Shana Shana S and SS).
To your success, adaptation to anime and manga were soon made.

Shakugan no Shana, the animated adaptation of the study was handled by JC Staff and directed by Takashi Watanabe and Ito Noizi designs (which ensures a visual fidelity to the novels). There were a total of 24 chapters issued on 6 October 2005 to March 23, 2006. It is worth mentioning that only covers the first 9 volumes of ranobes.
Manga
Under the same name as the anime, the volumes published from the October 27, 2005 and not yet complete. It is an adaptation of the anime graphics and is published by Media Works, art by Ayato Sasakura.
